Yes, you heard it right. We(I) are(am) going to plant trees on behalf of our readers.
I am Sandesh Naroju the author and Administrator of riddlelife.com. Being an environmentalist, I have always loved to express my love for this beautiful nature. And I have been doing it for over two years.
Over a period of two years, readers have shown overwhelming love towards this Nature and Life site.
I have started riddlelife.com as a hobby project, but soon it started getting attention from other nature-loving people and the number of readers has been increasing slowly, in the last four months over 50,000 people have read at least one article in riddlelife.com.
I have never expected this kind of attention. I thank all the readers from the bottom of my heart for supporting riddlelife.com and me.
But, thanking is not enough. I need to do something else. maybe giving you free ebooks? I have thought about giving you free ebooks before. But that can only help you but not this nature.
In riddlelife.com, we discussed problems, we discussed the beauty of this nature and most importantly we discussed real problems like pollution and global warming that affecting this mother earth.
However, It does not really matter how much we talk about issues. The only thing that matters is taking Actions to solve these problems.
Then, the thought of planting trees came to my mind on behalf of our readers.
The real problem in this massive step is how and where are we going to plant trees. And how our visitors know that their tree is getting planted?
Planting many trees in my backyard is completely unnecessary and useless. That can only help me and my family.
Planting trees where they are much needed is the right way to do.
I took a few more days to figure out a proper way of doing it. But did not get one.
After a few more days, one of our readers told about the Isha foundation and its mission to revitalize the Cauvery river by planting trees.
Isha Foundation is run by Sadhguru (Jaggi Vasudev) who is an Indian yogi, mystic, and author.
His mission was to revitalize the Cauvery river by helping farmers to plant 2.42 billion trees along the sides of the Cauvery river.

What is the River Cauvery Problem?
70 years back, the Cauvery river was abundant in water storage and many farmers were dependent on the Cauvery river.
This region was completely under tree cover. So, “the soil was constantly replenished with nutrients and organic matter by animal waste and plant litter. Organic matter allowed the soil to absorb water, and thus feed Cauvery.”
Fast forward to 2019, due to the overpopulation, and inefficient agricultural practices, many trees have been lost. Soil no more absorbs water and suffers erosion instead. It is directly affecting farmers.
Numbers From Isha foundation
- 83% of farmers in Tamil Nadu and 77% of farmers in Karnataka are in debt.
Isha foundation mission is to” revitalize Cauvery, rejuvenate the soil, and improve farmers’ income, Cauvery Calling will support farmers to plant 242 crore trees. It is estimated that these 242 crore trees will increase water retention in Cauvery basin by about 40%.”
Isha Foundation is collecting 42 Indian rupees (0.70 USD ) to plant a tree.
You can check the above link to know more about the donations from other countries.
